Khalid Abdel-Hadi
Khalid Abdel-Hadi is a visual artist graduated from Petra University of Jordan (PUT) in 2014. He has founded My.Kali magazine in September 2007 at the age of 17, which is a conceptual, Queer and Feminist webzine. Currently his full time job is being the Editor-in-Chief and the Creative Director of My.Kali magazine. Khalid graduated from several regional and international programs such as of the Swedish Institute Program ‘Young Leaders Visitors Program (YLVP)’ – 2014 and The Arab foundation for Freedom and Equality’s ‘Social Change Program (SCP)’ – 2016. He has conducted a report in collaboration with Freedom House titled: Digital threats and opportunities for LGBT+ activists in Jordan, and presented it in Internet Governance Forum (GIF) 2016 in Mexico, and contributed to other international reports regarding social monitories and gender like “Activism and Resilience: LGBTQ Progress in the Arabic-speaking States in the Middle East and North Africa Region” by OutRight (2018) and “Audacity in Adversity: LGBT Activism in the Middle East and North Africa” by Human Rights Watch. And Khalid was also part of the Human Rights Watch ‘No Longer Alone’ campaign, listed on Guardian’s LGBT change heroes of 2017, and the subject to many artists and journalists and documentaries across the world.
Khalid is one of the speaker of Framer Framed invites New Radicalism event on the 2nd of February 2020 at Framer Framed’s gallery space.
