Julia Geven

Julia Geven (b. 1992) was an intern at Framer Framed between 2013 and 2014. She received her Master in Museology and Cultural Heritage at the Reinwardt Academy, part of the Amsterdam School of the Arts in 2015. After completing the Minors Cultural Entrepreneurship and Cultural Anthropology (Utrecht University). Her main activities for Framer Framed involved the We Curate project for which she writes articles about best practices on inclusive curating. She interviewed key figures in projects where concepts like social inclusiveness, co-creation and participation are crucial understandings.

In her thesis In Search of Sustainist Museology – Sustainism in the Tolhuistuin? (2015) Julia Geven investigated the usage of Sustainism – a new concept involving connectedness, sharing, proportionality and localism- for cultural institutions. It included recommendations for the possible use of a ‘Sustainism work method’ in Framer Framed‘s previous exhibition venue in the Tolhuistuin.
