Harde Kaft

Harde Kaft is a literary collective with a mission: to make literature hard again. Beautiful books deserve to be read, cherished and discussed. Harde kaft offers tips, organises literary evenings and runs book clubs in Harry Mulisch’s former study. For the Book Fair, Harde kaft has teamed up with Amsterdam Antiquarian Bookstore, a gem of a bookshop in the heart of Amsterdam. Together with the experts at Amsterdam Antiquarian Bookstore, Harde kaft has curated a collection of books for the fair: literature, poetry, art and photography.

Harde Kaft consists of writers and programme curators Pauline Sparreboom and Johan Kuiper. Sparreboom’s publications include the poetry collection De dagen, de dingen. Kuiper published De kleine Napoleon, biografie van een mythe and compiled a collection of aphorisms by Harry Mulisch entitled Ik kan niet dood zijn.

Amsterdam Antiquarian Bookstore, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Free Mind, builds on the foundations of the legendary Antiquariaat Schumacher and offers a dazzling collection of books and prints.
