Retrospective: Opening Celebration of Framer Framed Noord
On 14 March 2026, the official opening of Framer Framed Noord took place at Zuideinde 369. It was a highly successful day where local residents, volunteers, and our team joined partners Muziekschool Amsterdam Noord and Buurtkamer Zuideinde 369 to celebrate this milestone. We look back with great joy on a diverse programme and the fantastic turnout.

An afternoon of creativity and connection
The afternoon programme offered something for everyone. Inside, children participated in a workshop by Studio Dicky & Daadje, where they were portrayed as “neighbourhood superheroes” in front of a green screen. Meanwhile, an embroidery workshop took place in the textile studio of Molenwijk Door Elkaar, while Lula hosted a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, providing precious moments for dialogue and connection.
Outside, Sabine Aerts led a wild knitting workshop, the colourful results of which still brighten up the neighbourhood. Additionally, the ovens garnered a lot of attention: artists Anita Kluge (with the tandoor) and Peik Suyling (from the BuurOven) spent the entire afternoon baking fresh bread alongside volunteers Hans and Freek. Visitors were lining up to get a taste.
Official opening and evening programme
When the evening set in, the new location was officially opened by district administrator Esther Lagendijk. Following the opening ceremony, guests enjoyed a tasty buffet prepared by Karam Keuken and the Kookbrigade.
The evening concluded impressively with Sarah-Lee, who recited her poem about the statue ‘Vigilantia’ (Vigilance). In it, she reflected on what we, as Amsterdammers, must remain vigilant about. Perhaps the answer was found within the day itself: vigilance over our community, our creativity and the space we share.
