Sherlien Sanches

Sherlien Sanches is the chairperson and founder of the International Indigenous Knowledge Centre and is an advisor for International Heritage Collaboration at the Dutch Knowledge Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage (KIEN). Sherlien is commited to preserving and repairing Indigenous culture, and the still underrepresented Indigenous perspectives on the Dutch history of colonialism and slavery and its impact. She strengthens collaborations across Suriname, Indonesia and India, aiming to encourage cultural exchange and to identify and document intangible heritage.
