Imran Ahmad Khan
Imran Ahmad Khan (b. 1974, Lahore) is a Pakistani visual artist. In medium his work often draws on mechanics, thematically it is inspired by the cacophony of Lahore city, calling forth both the city’s tense present, and structures of its colonial past. Since 2000, in his practice the artist procures found objects from the city, using and transforming them to examine the fractured apparatuses of the political, the economic and the social state in which he resides. Growing up in an area of Lahore, which has housed an array of traditional crafts and small scale industries mostly based on recycling practice, has inspired Imran’s working methods.
Imran Ahmed Khan has exhibited in solo and group shows at various galleries in Pakistan and internationally. He is also an active member of the faculty at Beaconhouse National University.
