Ten Premises For A Pandemic

Taking Ian Alan Paul’s text ‘Ten Premises For A Pandemic as a framework, Framer Framed will host a live online panel discussion with Ian Alan Paul and and guests Matthijs de Bruine, Clara Balaguer and Czar Kristoff, moderated by Shailoh Phillips on the 19th of May 2020.

In their article, artist Ian Alan Paul writes, “A pandemic isn’t a collection of viruses, but is a social relation among people, mediated by viruses.” The recent global shift in social behaviour, economic and political policies calls on us to question and dismantle our pre-pandemic world to find new ways of living.

Using the ideas social responsibility and networks of care from the  “Ten Premises” text as a framework, Framer Framed will host the online panel discussion with Ian Alan Paul and guests Matthijs de Bruine, Clara Balaguer and Czar Kristoff, moderated by researcher Shailoh Phillips.

The live panel will analyse activist and artistic practices, as well as the role of communities and institutions in this time of crisis. Framer Framed presents this discussion to create a space for processing together the current pandemic and investigating new forms of ‘practical’ living a changed world. How can we navigate the “specificities and immediacies” of our translocal situations as they are re-structured by a global phenomenon?

The panel will be live streamed from 17:00 CEST on YouTube. You can suscribe to Framer Framed YouTube channel or watch it directly from the link: ONLINE PANEL: Ten Premises For A Pandemic

This event is FREE and in English and will also be recorded for Framer Framed’s online programming.
