SALWA Salwa Foundation
SALWA is a platform that aims to diversify the cultural landscape by amplifying the many urgent and passionate voices of artists and makers who are new to the Netherlands. Prioritizing artists with migrant backgrounds, SALWA provides them with guidance, resources, and support so that they can sustain their creative practices and independently of their craft and their style.
SALWA prides itself on being a welcoming community for emerging artists and cultural workers. Their programs provide a site of knowledge exchange and support migrant artists in establishing their practice in the Netherlands. They offer a range of activities from community events, workshops and courses, to collaborations with external partners. SALWA also provide artists with a platform to connect with the platform’s ever-expanding network of cultural institutions, partners, and fellow artists and offers an inspiring and dynamic environment in which artists can experiment and share their work, develop critical and creative practices, and exchange knowledge with other creatives.
