Framer Framed

Yacobus Ari Respati

Yacobus Ari Respati is an art teacher and curator. He is part of the teaching staff of Integrated Arts – Faculty of Philosophy at Parahyangan University (UNPAR), and has previously curated, written and researched for various exhibition presentations and art projects. Some of his works include the Declaring Distance project series: Bandung – Leiden (part of the Atelier KITLV-Framer Framed project by Theo Frids Marulitua), Kaul and Luang (a single exhibition by Luqi Lukman and Maruto at Panggang Sunaryo Art Space, supported by ROH), and From Seteleng to Biennale: Exhibition Histories of 20th Century Indonesia (part of Art Turns, World Turns, inaugural Museum MACAN, 2017). He was the co-curator of Intellect Never Comes, Negotiations Never Come; Indonesian pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia, 2019.

Respati was part of the exhibition Sensible Past: Of Distances and the Fabrication of the Frame, a collaboration between Framer Framed, KITLV and the Integrated Arts – UNPAR, in Gedung Balai Pemuda in Surabaya, Indonesia.
