Artcom
Artcom is a platform for contemporary art and social engagement. Since 2015, they have been bringing communities together to collectively care for shared memory, culture, and ecology, striving toward sustainable futures for Central Asia. Artcom is a collective of women artists and researchers from Kazakhstan. In their work, they explore the potential of art and knowledge production for social transformation aimed at achieving ecological and climate justice. In 2020, they initiated the environmental movement BalqaÅŸqa Qamqor, where they develop new forms of care for the lake to preserve its ecosystems, in collaboration with local communities, cultural practitioners, and researchers.
