Quiryn Kaasschieter

Quiryn Kaasschieter did the BA programme of Cultural Heritage at the Reinwardt Academy, Amsterdam. To complete the course in June 2013, he interned at Framer Framed for half a year, in addition to writing his thesis on the notion of New Museology. The societal relevance of museology is often linked to New Museology, an umbrella term. Different forms of theoretical and practical museology are part of this. Community museology, social museology, participative museology, ecomuseology etc. are often geographically calibrated forms and interpretations of this paradigme. The most prominent methodical and conceptual similarity in these approaches consist of the combination of community and location. For the Tolhuistuin, Quiryn researched whether this theoretical approach can be implemented in practice through the use of a focus group.
