The Silence of Tired Tongues, curated by Raphael Fonseca, presents the works of thirteen emerging artists born in Brazil. The artworks in the group exhibition bring together a sense of ‘saudade’, which can be translated as a mixture of melancholy and longing.The Silence of Tired Tongues invites both artists and the public to think with silence and tiredness in bursts of colours, words, and narratives made of moving image and sound.

The exhibition catalogue features an introduction from Framer Framed directors, Josien Pieterse  & Cas Bool; an essay from curator, Raphael Fonseca; and information on all the artists and their artworks.

The Silence of Tired Tongues, samengesteld door Raphael Fonseca, toont het werk van dertien opkomende kunstenaars die geboren zijn in Brazilië. De kunstwerken in deze groepstentoonstelling brengen een gevoel van ‘saudade’ met zich mee, dat vertaald kan worden als een mengeling van melancholie en verlangen. The Silence of Tired Tongues nodigt zowel kunstenaars als het publiek uit om na te denken over stilte en vermoeidheid door middel van explosie aan kleuren, woorden en verhalen in bewegend beeld en geluid.

De tentoonstellingscatalogus bevat een inleiding van de directeuren van Framer Framed, Josien Pieterse & Cas Bool; een essay van curator Raphael Fonseca; en informatie over alle kunstenaars en hun kunstwerken.
