Framer Framed presents a unique collaborative exhibition titled\u00a0Re(as)sisting Narratives<\/em>, curated by Chandra Frank<\/a>. The exhibition explores lingering legacies of colonialism between South Africa and the Netherlands through engaging with contemporary artists from both countries.<\/p>\n

Re(as)sisting Narratives<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is a result of a two-year project with South African based partners:\u00a0District Six Museum<\/a> and Centre for Curating the Archive<\/em>. Participating artists explore broader themes such as race, gender, memory, trauma and spatiality in their work. This multi-media group exhibition features work by artists\u00a0who are connected by a shared interest in evoking and readdressing that what is left behind, that what is (in)visible, and a visual fusion of reality and fantasy to create new ways of being.<\/p>\n

This special exhibition publication features an essay from Chandra Frank and interviews with artists Toni Stuart<\/a>, Judith Westerveld<\/a> and Sethembile Msezane.<\/a><\/p>\n
